In 2021, Color Café was born with a clear mission: to reveal and promote the consumption of Ecuador's finest
coffees.
It all started just before the pandemic, when our founder, Sebastián Merino, discovered a 90+ rated Ecuadorian specialty coffee from Pepe Jijón, a renowned local coffee grower. The experience was so delicious and unexpected that he immediately wondered why he had never tasted anything like it, despite it being produced right in Ecuador.
Inspired, in love and proud, Sebastián immersed himself in the world of specialty coffee, uncovering the hidden gems of coffees produced in this wonderful country. He also realized how unknown and undervalued Ecuadorian coffee had been, both globally and domestically, for various reasons.
This inspired the creation of Color Café, with a resolute purpose: to become the brand that brings the best of Ecuadorian coffee to the most discerning palates around the world.
Ecuador, Premier Origin for Exceptional Coffees
Ecuador stands as one of the world's most diverse countries, thanks to its unique blend of geography and climate.
In its four regions – the Amazon, Coast, Highlands, and Galapagos – a variety of high-quality, intensely flavored foods are produced, globally recognized examples include shrimp, bananas, and cocoa, among many others. Ecuadorian coffee is no exception.
The Andes mountains provide an excellent environment for coffee production. The altitude and volcanic soil create countless unique microclimates, perfect for cultivating coffee beans of exceptional quality.
This harmonious mix of factors has given rise to exquisite and diverse flavor profiles, with exotic notes that captivate the senses, offering a journey of flavors in every sip that reflect the richness of their origin.
Color Café’s coffees
With the finest raw materials at our disposal, we are passionate about delivering the best coffee experience in the world.
We collaborate with a team of renowned baristas and independent Ecuadorian roasters to develop flavor profiles that align with the tastes of each market.
For each profile, we visit various farms in six provinces across the country to find the perfect beans that create notes sure to surprise and delight our consumers' palates.
We purchase the coffee directly from the farms, ensuring that farmers receive the maximum benefit for their hard work.

WE CHOOSE COMPOSTABLE
We are committed to sustainability, which is why we have made the decision to exclusively use compostable capsules for our coffee.
These eco-friendly capsules ensure that you can enjoy our premium coffee while minimizing environmental impact.
WHY CHOOSE COMPOSTABLE COFFEE CAPSULES??
It's a difference of 50 years versus 7 months. For every Color Café capsule consumed, we eliminate the use of an aluminum or plastic capsule that would continue to leave a heavy footprint on our planet even after the 50 years it takes to decompose. In contrast, Color Café capsules, made from biomass, take about 7 months to break down into organic matter, leaving no polluting residue behind.
The compostability of our capsules is certified by the following institutions:
