The cappuccino originated in Italy, and it is said to derive its name from the color of the Capuchin friars’ robes. Despite its origins, it is now known worldwide. It began its expansion through Europe and then moved to South America in the mid-20th century. In Italy, it is typically consumed only at breakfast, although in other countries it is enjoyed at any time of the day.
A cappuccino consists of espresso coffee and steamed milk to give it creaminess. It is made up of 125 ml of milk and 25 ml of espresso, and you can add cinnamon or cocoa powder to taste.
What distinguishes an exquisite cappuccino is, on one hand, the texture of the espresso, and on the other, the temperature of the milk, which should not exceed 65º C. Professionals create volume in the milk by introducing tiny air bubbles through steam pressure, giving it a creamy texture.
But how to make a perfect cappuccino at home?
Start by using your BACCIO milk frother to froth the milk and create foam. If you don’t have a milk frother or a milk mixer, you can also do it manually. And yes, it works well. Not like a professional, but quite acceptable. To do this, pour cold milk from the refrigerator into a glass jar or bottle. Close it and shake vigorously for about half a minute. Open the jar and microwave it without the lid for about 20 seconds at maximum power (800W). This will help the foam rise to the top and the milk settle at the bottom.
While you prepare the milk, make an espresso with Color Café and the BACCIO coffee maker.
Finally, slowly pour the milk into the cup so that the foam remains for the end. Pour the coffee on top and, lastly, add the milk foam or whipped milk. Another option is to pour the milk over the coffee first and then add the foam, but in the first version, the visual effect is incredible.
Additionally, you can sprinkle cocoa powder or ground cinnamon on top. Enjoy!!!!
